About the Program

Empowering travelers to "be the change" by spreading the word about ecotourism and responsible travel.

What: TIES will select up to 10 Travel Ambassadors each year to be TIES spokespeople in their countries/regions. The main responsibility of Travel Ambassadors is to encourage as many people from their countries/regions to join TIES as Traveler members, and by doing so, inspire them to make travel choices that positively impact their communities, the environment and the future of travel & tourism.

TAP_ApplyWho: Ideal candidates for TIES Travel Ambassadors are:

•  Keen to spread the word about TIES mission.
•  Committed to following TIES Code of Conduct.
•  Enthusiastic about sharing benefits of travel.
•  Flexible, independent and able to use own initiative.
•  Able to take innovative and creative approaches to challenges.
•  Comfortable with social media and online communication tools.

Why: Travel Ambassadors will have the opportunities to:

•  Become active advocate for a sustainable future of travel.
•  Be published in TIES blog, newsletters, and Facebook page.
•  Reach followers of TIES Twitter (@ecotravel) through RT updates.
•  Be featured in TIES newsletters and website, highlighting key achievements.
•  Establish personal connections with a number of engaged travelers, professionals and organizations.

How: Travel Ambassadors will receive:

•  TIES Travel Advocacy Kit including TIES promotional materials, membership information, and talking points.
•  Guidance and advice from TIES team on outreach initiatives.
•  TIES Lifetime membership.
