Submit Your Abstract

Take advantage of this unique opportunity to share your knowldge and experience with hundreds of key players in the field of ecotourism and sustainable tourism. The ESTC is designed to utilize practical examples of ecotourism and sustainable tourism strategies so that attendees can implement these tools. We therefore only accept presentation abstracts that incorporate case studies and best practice examples based on academic research and/or applied experience.

To Submit a Speaker Application:

1. Review the proposed session topics.
2. Complete the ESTC 2010 Speaker Application Form by Monday, March 15th, 2010.
3. Your application will be reviewed by the ESTC 2010 Advisory Committee. Selected speakers will be contacted by April 1, 2010. Applicants are kindly requested to refrain from inquiring about the status of their application.

To Propose a Panel:

To propose an additional panel topic that is not currently included in the proposed session topics, please contact TIES at info[at]ecotourism.org (Subject line: "ESTC Panel Proposal") with the following details: (1) brief description of the proposed session topic (2) names and organizations speakers who would present on the proposed topic. 

Speaker Expectations:
 
• Speakers will provide case studies and examples of their organizations’, or initiatives relevant to the respective workshop topics.
• Speakers are requested to engage the audience, and make presentations in an interactive and engaging manner. Power Point is acceptable but not required.
• TIES reserves the right to select proposed speakers and match them together to present during the same session.  All speakers will be notified with the contact information of their co-speakers.  Presentation times will range from 30 minutes to 90 minutes depending on selection of speakers.
• All speakers will be given the opportunity to take questions from the audience.
• Speaker Presentations will be made available online to all conference participants, unless otherwise specified.
• All speakers are required to register for the conference by July 1, 2010.
• Speakers will not receive financial remuneration for speaking at the conference.
• All speakers must submit an abstract of their presentation.
• Power Point presentations (or any photo slides, etc. you wish to use during your presentation) must be submitted electronically to speakers[at]ecotourism.org by August 30, 2010. Failure to submit presentation by due date is grounds for replacement. Speakers are also required to bring a current copy of their presentation on a USB drive the day of presentation.
• Speakers are responsible for arranging and paying for their own accommodation and transportation.
• Speakers will be offered a reduced conference registration fee.
