Q: Are there any criteria to become a TIES member?
A: Any individual or organization that wants to make a postive impact by supporting and promoting ecotourism is welcome to join TIES and utilize member benefits. All members are required to sign TIES Code of Conduct and follow the principles of ecotourism.
Q: Can my business become certified by TIES?
A: TIES is a non-profit association and does not provide certification services. Certification programs and eco-labels can be an excellent tool to strengthen your sustainability efforts. We recommend you seek credible local and regional certification options. A number of national ecotourism associations, for instance, offer certification programs for ecotourism businesses.
Q: How long will my membership be valid?
A: A regular membership is valid for one full year from the date of registration. Multiple-year member registration is currently available through off-line application and renewal forms.
Q: My company has mutiple affiliated businesses / subsidiaries. Will they all receive TIES membership when I register for my company?
A: Becuase the member's commitment to TIES Code of Conduct is each individual / organization's responsibility, all entities, regardless of the parent company's member status, need to register separately in order to access TIES member benefits including the use of TIES Member logo.
