About Us
Our integrated teams understand global issues and help to drive the best return on investments -economically, socially, environmentally and artistically. Making these connections, we deliver enduring value that raises the quality of life for individuals and entire communities.
Sustainability Practices
Active Caretakers of the Environment
Our trips are all about fun, but they'll make you feel good in other ways. For starters, REI Adventures promotes high ethical standards and works to minimize environmental impact. We practice leave no trace principles on all of our trips and whenever possible utilize reusable or recyclable materials. We print all our materials on Forest-Certified and recycled paper and use only soy based inks. These are just two of the many ways we lessen our impact on the planet. We invite you to learn more about our commitment to sustainability and stewardship.
And our responsibility doesn't end there. To help economies thrive, we patronize local businesses, from lodging to guides to restaurants. We create meaningful cultural exchanges with each region's people, and we treat their cultures and places with respect. It's not just the right thing to do; it's what makes each adventure truly unique.
Experience a Place, Don't Just Visit
While comfort is our top priority, we provide lodging that's out of the ordinary. On our trips, you might stay in an eco lodge high in the Andes, a genuine sheep shearers' quarters, or a tent perched on the flanks of a stunning mountain. You might wake to the cacophony of parrots with the aroma of your morning coffee or watch the sun set as you savor a delicious spread of regional specialties and wines. And speaking of food, we believe fresh local cuisine is one of the best ways to absorb a country's culture.
