12,000 Nominations and Growing

Since the Awards launched in 2004, they have received over 12,000 nominations from the public. With more partners and categories in 2013, the Awards are encouraging organizations from all over the world to enter for a chance to be recognized.

According to Harold Goodwin, Professor in Responsible Tourism Management in ICRETH at Leeds Metropolitan and Founder of the International Centre for Responsible Tourism, "Each year the judges are surprised by the nominations that come in, many of the winners are for companies and organizations which we have not heard of before. We are looking for examples of businesses which are taking responsibility, using tourism to make their part of our world a better place to live in... Only businesses nominated by you can be recognized or win."
