TIME Unlimited Tours from Auckland selected as Finalist in Worldwide Eco-Tourism Award

Auckland tour operator TIME Unlimited Tours has been chosen as the only Finalist from Australasia in the worldwide Eco-Tourism Award EcoTrophea 2011.

TIME Unlimited ToursSince 1987 the German Travel Association (DRV) has been awarding the International Environmental Award EcoTrophea. In its 25th anniversary, a total of 39 candidate organisations from 21 countries applied. TIME Unlimited Tours has been nominated as one of the very best from many high-quality applicants from around the world for this prestigious Eco-Tourism Award.

The EcoTrophea Award is annually awarded by the DRV to honour effective and exemplary projects which are committed to environmental protection and social responsibility in tourism around the globe. The innovative and sustainable projects are applicants from around the world. Contenders for this International Eco-Tourism Award included tour operators, accommodation providers, tourism ministries, tourist boards and marketing organizations, cities and municipalities, research institutes and a university as well as foundations and associations.

A high-profile jury of travel professionals chose the 5 Finalists for the EcoTrophea 2011 from 39 applicants for the EcoTrophea 2011. They are from Germany, South Africa, Montenegro, Thailand and TIME Unlimited Tours from New Zealand.

“Of course we are thrilled about this latest accolade for our very special tour company based here in Auckland”, say Néill & Ceillhe Sperath, Founders and Directors of TIME Unlimited Tours. “This is especially since we were of course aware of the enormous competition we faced from quality applicants with in many cases many staff and large budgets from around the world when applying for the EcoTrophea 2011.

Each day we strive to enable our guests to have unique and exceptional experiences while in our care. We also want to continue developing to ensure we remain a leader both in New Zealand and internationally with regard to Eco-Tourism and our Eco-Tours. Where applicable, we integrate New Zealand’s unique and fascinating Maori culture into our tours to ensure we do both our stunning country and our indigenous culture proud.

Plus we have many initiatives to assist in protecting the environment that we are blessed with to ensure that many generations of Kiwis and travellers can continue to enjoy the breath-taking environment that we are lucky to have around us in Auckland and New Zealand. Last but certainly not least, while we are delighted to receive this latest accolade, we at no point want to rest on our laurels but see this as further motivation to keep improving in all aspects of our business, ultimately for the benefit of our guests”.
