TIES Welcomes New Association Member Ecotourism Korea

Ecotourism Korea

Ecotourism Korea, A New National Association

Ecotourism Korea was founded to promote ecotourism - ecologically sustainable tourism that contributes to conservation of natural and cultural heritages, and welfare of local society - and sustainable development of ecotourism businesses in Korea. Through research, networking and education initiatives, Ecotourism Korea aims to contribute to sound policy development for ecotourism, improve opportunities for stakeholders in Korea, and strengthen collaboration with other international ecotourism organizations.

Founded in 2010, Ecotourism Korea currently has 69 individual and organization members including public institutions, international organizations, ecotourism professionals and students. Through TIES international network, Ecotourism Korea hopes to "exchange knowledge and experiences with ecotourism specialists in other parts of the world" as well as organizing and participating in educational events. For more information on Ecotourism Korea, please contact: Wonhee Lee, PhD., International Director, Ecotourism Korea (EK) at: whlee[at]kcti.re.kr.
