IES Global CSR Award

IES Global has been named the winner in the Education category at the Junior Chamber International (JCI) Socially Responsible Company Awards 2012 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The mission of JCI is to provide development opportunities that empower young people to create positive change. The awards, supported by the Prime Minister Department of Malaysia, encourage small and medium businesses to have an impact on local communities and the assessment criteria fulfill the principles of the UN Global Compact; Human Rights, Labor, Environment and Anti-Corruption, which the JCI signed in 2008.

JCI Community Vice President, Keith Khoh commented "IES Global deserves to be recognized as a socially responsible company because it has taken action to create positive change in the local community and its sphere of influence. This can be seen evidently from its contribution to the community advancement in education where every citizen has the right to access basic education for personal improvement in the society and IES is there to provide such development opportunities."

The JCI Socially Responsible Company Awards, in its second year, honored 16 Asia based companies for responsible and impactful contributions in the industry class sector which included fields as diverse as Environmental Conservation, Green Technology, Human Capital Development, Investment, Labor and Recruitment, Retail and Franchising.

"IES Global is honored to be recognized by the JCI for its efforts and achievements in CSR. This award is a testament not only to the commitment of IES Global and its staff, but to the critical role of international education in promoting CSR and to the enormous CSR opportunities inherent in bringing international students closer to the communities in which they have chosen to study. We hope that other international education companies in China and Asia's education field to follow our example and strengthen their involvement with local communities." - Joanne Wong, Managing Director, IES Global
