Ecowildlife to Join WWF in Turning Off the Lights in 2013

Earth HourEcowildlife Travel is joining the Earth Hour event for its second consecutive year. World Wildlife Foundation’s (WWF) campaign has become a major global initiative in defense of the environment, inspiring millions of people around the world to turn off their lights for one hour as a symbol of their dedication to the fight against climate change. This year’s event will be taking place from 20:30 (8:30pm) to 21:30 (9:30pm) on March 23rd, 2013. More than just a symbolic action, Earth Hour results in real impacts and increased awareness around the world.

Since 2007, global citizens, companies, and governments have joined forces to signal their commitment to the environment on the last Saturday of March. Ecowildlife Travel is proud to be a part of Earth Hour again this year and to join the largest mass mobilization event ever organized.

Ecowildlife Travel supports this campaign spearheaded by WWF, communicating the campaign to the 42 countries where we operate and across our website, social networks and the 1,200 agencies around the world that we work with.

As a responsible company aware of the serious state of the planet and our environment, Ecowildlife is dedicated to WWF’s mission of creating a global, interconnected community that demonstrates how far we can go to change the world we live in.

Our love for the environment is expressed through each of our expeditions, which transmit to travelers a deep awareness of the values that ecotourism promotes - to actively contribute to the conservation of both natural and cultural heritage in every part of the world. Only in this way can we continue to create a sustainable and healthy future for the planet and guarantee harmony between man and nature.

Thus, Ecowildlife has decided to join the cause, turning off the lights in their working centers and also turning off the lights in each one of the countries where we have travelers, enjoying this magic moment in candlelight. Every small action is significant, because the more people who speak up, the louder our voice will be.
