Art & Gator Magazine and Tours

New print and digital magazine will feature upscale Florida outdoor and cultural themes

Art & Gator Magazine and ToursVero Beach, Florida, February 15, 2012 - Art & Gator magazine and website launching in Spring 2012 may combine an odd couple but it will also be a Florida first: combining the finest of arts and nature-based travel in the Sunshine State for affluent visitors whose interests extend to everything from museums, fine art and theater to the fabled Everglades.

"Florida's award-winning state parks and trails provide an exquisite setting for the outdoors enthusiast and art lover to connect to nature," said Florida Park Service Director Donald V. Forgione.

The combination of art and alligators does not roll off the tongue for many visitors who think of Florida as dominated by theme parks and beaches. "There is an information void for some of Florida's 82.3 million visitors, who are interested in these two very popular areas - culture such as museums and eco destinations such as Florida's famous Everglades. We will be the first and only magazine to bridge these gaps," said George Byfield, president and CEO of Art & Gator Media.

"More than 65 percent of Florida's visitors participate in either culture or nature-based activities while they are in the Sunshine State," said Chris Thompson, President and CEO of VISIT FLORIDA. "Establishing Art & Gator as an additional travel planning resource to our visitors offers a tremendous opportunity to grow these vital market segments."

"Whether your family has been here for generations or you are visiting for a few days, Florida is a destination of choice. Thanks to the efforts of Art & Gator, we have a real opportunity to educate travelers, the arts and tourism industry how to ensure a sustainable Florida," said Tim Center, Executive Director of Sustainable Florida.

In addition to beautiful photo essays, every issue of Art & Gator will include standard features that include Made in Florida, Florida Masters, Front Porch Stories, Sustainable Florida, Arts in View, Outdoors Trek, Now Boarding, Culture n' Food, Tour Guides, Fine Travel, Home & Garden and Rancher's Lifestyle.

Paid print advertisers will appreciate a special offer of six issues, access to a digital version and a monthly online newsletter with exclusive offers from private clubs, upscale events, signature tours as well as an invitation to enjoy Art & Gator's Private Sunshine Collection.

Published six times a year, the magazine will not only be available by subscription ($14.97 a year), but will also be delivered to selected museums, art galleries, performing art theatres and private aviation centers throughout the state of Florida.
