About Us
African Encounter is a unique and responsible travel group. Our products appeal to travellers who want to be more than just tourists. They appeal to people who want to experience the true spirit of Africa whilst, at the same time, impacting positively on the economic and environmental issues in the communities which they visit.
As a group, we offer adventure, voluntourism, personalised and educational safaris; overlanding and group travel as well as extraordinary lodges. If our clients need that African connection we can be their facilitators as we are on the ground and we know how the land lies. Whatever we endeavour to do, we do it with a difference. That little something to make us truly unique.
At African Encounter we really do believe in this continent; we believe it is a place like no other and we invite you to join us on your own unique African adventure.

Our vision is "to become leaders of responsible conservation and community centred tourism in Africa".
Travellers to the African continent are becoming increasingly conscious of the need to be responsible tourists by engaging in activity which respects the natural & cultural environment. These tourists also want their presence to enhance the wellbeing of local communities in an ethical way.
Wherever African Encounter has initiated or joined a project - from Cape Town to Zanzibar – we have strived to make a difference; making an impact on all concerned, traveller and local alike. We believe in facilitating unique, meaningful African experiences, with a conscience. We feel this would be the single greatest asset that we can bring to the future of African tourism, its wildlife, its environment and its people.
